Флаг Таганрога был разработан в 1991 году, а в 1995 году утверждён городской думой.
Флаг состоит из пяти равных горизонтальных полос: белых и синих (знатоки геральдики
сразу вспомнят, что таким было первое поле герба Таганрога образца 1808 года)
Длина полотнища вдвое больше его ширины.
В центре полотнища изображены два золотых якоря и кадуцей.
